If anyone’s still having trouble, here’s a fix that worked for me after I got the RavMon virus :
1. Click “Start” -> “Run…” (or press Windows key + R)
2. Type “regedit” and click “Ok”.
3. Find the key : [sourcecode language='html']HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvancedFolderHiddenSHOWALL[/sourcecode]
4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t, delete the key.
5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally. Enjoy!

all above instructions are not working. Is any different way to show hidden files & folders?plz tell..!!thanks
Thanks a lot dude.
Its working fine.
Its a great releif.
But still if u go to task manager- process, u can find svchost.exe thats the threat which is the reason for this problem.
Anyway now its working. But i dont know for how long…..
nice, its too gud,
Worked great but for some reason I couldn’t see the full path of the registry key in my web browser. I see it is there in the source, so it might just be my browser/resolution combo (firefox 2.0 for XP and 1280×960). I could only see:
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced”
When it should have been:
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder
\Hidden\SHOWALL”
I found my mistake when my after googling when my first attempt didn’t work. It said the fix was made by Random Hajile btw.
Sorry. The gpupdate/force rings up a ‘disabled by the administrator’ and regedit brings up a black window that seems to want me to edit, but it also disappears within a half second.
Any help from anyone regarding the antivirus 2008 trojan would be appreciated. purchased Norton last night. No good.
